3 OBÁS OF XANGÔ revolves around the unconditional friendship of Jorge Amado, Dorival Caymmi and Carybé, artists who were largely responsible for creating an imaginary of Bahianness that persists to this day. All three argued that the strength of their work lay in documenting what they saw on the streets: the resilience of the candomblé people, the power of women, the omnipresence of the sea. Jorge's books, Caymmi's songs and Carybé's paintings and sculptures consolidated the Bahians' 'way of being in the world' and influenced the generations of artists who came after them.
